The Gauliga Lower Silesia 1943/44 was the third season of the Gauliga Lower Silesia of the Football Department . Due to the war, the second-rate district classes were dissolved and all teams still participating in the game were classified in the Gauliga. As a result, the Gauliga was first played in the groups Breslau , Liegnitz / Görlitz and Bergland , the group winners met in a final group and played the Gaumeister. In this, the STC Hirschberg prevailed and was thus allowed to participate in the final round of the German soccer championship for the first time . After a 7-0 home win over BSG DWM Posen , they reached the round of 16, in which Hirschberg was eliminated after a 5-0 away defeat against First Vienna FC 1894 . This was the last complete season of the Gauliga Lower Silesia. In the coming season there were only a few games in Wroclaw before the game was completely stopped.
The playoffs took place on January 23, 1944 and February 6, 1944 in Breslau . The Breslauer SpVg 02 was able to prevail and qualified for the Lower Silesian final round.

The finals took place on January 9, 1944 in Liegnitz and on January 16, 1944 in Hirschberg . Since there was a tie after both games, a playoff was necessary, which took place on February 6, 1944 in Breslau . The STC Hirschberg prevailed and qualified for the Lower Silesian finals.
In the final group, the three group winners competed against each other in a round-robin tournament with a return game. The STC Hirschberg prevailed and became Lower Silesian Gaumeister for the first time.
