The SC Hertha Breslau was a German football club from the Silesian metropolis of Breslau .
history
Before the 1st World War
The club was founded in 1904 under the name SC Viktoria 1904 Breslau and joined the Association of Breslau Ball Game Clubs on September 24, 1905 . He was assigned to the 2nd class and reached fourth place in the 1905/06 season , which meant that the club had to relegate to 3rd class. At the end of the season, some members separated from the club and founded SC Hertha Breslau , while Viktoria Breslau later merged with Breslauer SpVgg 05 . In the 1908/09 season , Hertha Breslau rose to the A-Class Breslau. In March 1911, the club withdrew from gaming, but it is currently not known whether the club had completely dissolved. At least on June 19, 1913, the district of Breslau extended Hertha Breslau's game permit , so that it can be assumed that the club still existed, but did not participate in regular association games during this time. In July 1913, Hertha Breslau merged with SC Viktoria 1911 Breslau to form RSV Hohenzollern Breslau . It should be noted that the club has been handed down in the sources as both SC Hertha Breslau and FC Hertha Breslau . When it merged with Viktoria 1911 Breslau , there was even talk of FC Hertha 1909 Breslau .
After the 1st World War
The club was re-established in 1915 as SC Hertha 1915 Breslau and again belonged to the Southeast German Football Association . It is not known whether the club was founded on the basis of Hertha Breslaus before the First World War.
The black and yellow rose to the 1919/20 season in the then top division, the district league Middle Silesia-Wroclaw, and played there on a par with the big clubs from Wroclaw. In the last season of this league, 1932/33 , SC Hertha took third place in 1915. That was enough to qualify for the Gauliga Schlesien, which was introduced in 1933 , but after only two years Hertha was relegated to the Central Silesia District League . The direct ascent was achieved in 1936. With the exception of the 1935/36 season, Hertha played in the Gauliga until 1944 .
From October 1943 to October 1944, Hertha formed a war sports community with LSV Immelmann Breslau under the name KSG Hertha / Immelmann Breslau.
Due to the consequences of the war and the resulting award of Wroclaw to Poland, the association expired in 1945.

SC Hertha Breslau played its home games in the 1940/41 season on the Schönstraße 56 sports field in Breslau. The sports field there held 10,000 spectators. The attendance record (1935/36) was 10,000.
