The Sport-Club Preußen 1911 Glogau ( SC Preußen Glogau for short ) was a German football club from the Lower Silesian city of Glogau (now Głogów, Poland).

history

The club was founded on March 1, 1911 by 20 young people as SC Preußen 1911 Glogau and belonged to the Southeast German Football Association .

In 1927, 1930 and 1931 the Lower Silesian Association was runner-up . In 1933 the SC Preußen missed the qualification for the newly introduced Gauliga Schlesien and from then on played in the second-rate district league Lower Silesia .

In 1943 the SC Preußen rose to Glogau in 1911 in the Gauliga Lower Silesia , during the 1943/44 season the club withdrew its first team due to the war.

In addition to soccer , the club also played athletics and handball .

After the end of the Second World War, the city of Glogau became Polish and the SC Preußen 1911 Glogau association was dissolved.

Associations from the FRG sometimes took on so-called sponsorships for former associations from the eastern regions. In the case of Preußen Glogau, this was Hannover 96 in 1955 . Glogau refugees presented a Prussian pennant and a picture from home in 96.
