↓ District classes

The Lower Silesian District League was one of three second-rate football leagues in Sportgau Silesia during the Nazi era . It served next to the District League Middle Silesia and the District League Upper Silesia as a substructure for the Gauliga Silesia and existed from 1933 until the war-related division of the Sportgau in 1941 and was subsequently replaced by the 1st class Lower Silesia .

history

From 1933 a total of 16 teams played in the Lower Silesian District League, in two regional groups of eight teams each, in order to gain promotion to the Gauliga Schlesien. The winners of both groups met in two finals, the winner qualified for the promotion round to Gauliga Schlesien, in which he played off the two promoted players with the winners of the District League Middle Silesia and the District League Upper Silesia. The regional division varied from season to season. In 1933/34 the district league was divided into north and south , and for the following season it was divided into east and west . 1936/37 was played again in a northern and a southern league, the following year the game was again in the east and west . In the last season the District League Lower Silesia was renamed 1st Class Lower Silesia .

A total of four times the winner of the Lower Silesia District League was able to prevail in the promotion round and move up to the Gauliga Silesia . Already in the first season of the successful SC Silesia Haynau the rise. The Haynauer lost the final game of the Central Silesian District League against TuSV Weißwasser , but since the Football Department assigned the area around Weißwasser to the Berlin-Brandenburg district for the coming season , the defeated finalist was allowed to participate in the promotion round. In 1938/39 the STC Görlitz prevailed in the promotion round. Since it was later decided to enlarge the Gauliga for the coming season, the defeated finalist TuSpo Liegnitz also rose this season . Also in the last two seasons of the Gauliga Schlesien a representative from the District League Lower Silesia prevailed as a promoted player.

As a substructure for the Lower Silesia District League, there were various regional district classes. The last place in the two groups was relegated to a district class at the end of the season. Later there were more and more relegated groups, some clubs withdrew from the game at the beginning of the Second World War . The winners of the district classes also met in promotion rounds to determine the promoted to the district league Lower Silesia.
