The District League Lower Silesia 1938/39 was the sixth season of the District League Lower Silesia . It served, in addition to the District League Middle Silesia 1938/39 and the District League Upper Silesia 1938/39 as one of three second-rate district leagues the substructure of the Gauliga Silesia . The champions of the three district classes qualified for a promotion round in which two promoted to Gauliga were played.

The Lower Silesian District League was divided into two groups of eight teams this season, the winners of which played the district champions in two finals. In the end, the STC Görlitz secured the district championship in the final against TuSpo Liegnitz and thus took part in the promotion round to the Gauliga Schlesien 1939/40 , in which the Görlitzers secured promotion to the Gauliga together with the SuSV 09 from Beuthen . Since it was decided at a later point in time to carry out the Gauliga in two groups in the next season due to the war, the Lower Silesian runner-up, TuSpo Liegnitz , was also allowed to move up to the Gauliga.

Decision game for 1st place

Since both TuSpo Liegnitz and SC Preußen 1911 Glogau were tied at the end of regular time, playoffs were played. The first leg took place on April 23, 1939 in Görlitz , the second leg on April 30, 1939 in Breslau . Liegnitz was able to prevail and was thus allowed to participate in the final of the district championship.

Final championship district league

In the final of the championship in the district league, the winner of the East Group, TuSpo Liegnitz , and the winner of the West Group, STC Görlitz , met. The first leg took place on April 2, 1939 in Liegnitz , the second leg on May 14, 1939 in Görlitz . Görlitz was able to prevail in two close games and took part as a Lower Silesian representative in the promotion round to the Gauliga Silesia 1939/40 , in which the team made it to the Gauliga. Because of the war, it was decided at a later point in time to increase the Gauliga next year and play it in two groups, the Liegnitzers were also allowed to advance to the Gauliga as the inferior finalists.
