The District League Lower Silesia 1940/41 (from this year 1st class Lower Silesia ) was the eighth season of the District League Lower Silesia . It served, in addition to the District League Middle Silesia 1940/41 , the District League Upper Silesia East 1940/41 and the District League Upper Silesia West 1940/41 as one of four second-rate district leagues the substructure of the Gauliga Silesia . The champions of the four district classes qualified for a promotion round, in which the promoted to Gauliga were played.

The Lower Silesian District League was divided into two groups of eight and ten teams this season, the winners of which played the district champions in two finals. In the end, the WSV Liegnitz secured the district championship in the final against yellow-white Görlitz and thus took part in the promotion round to the Gauliga Schlesien 1941/42 . Since it was decided to divide the Gauliga Schlesien into the Gauliga Lower Silesia and the Gauliga Upper Silesia for the next season , all teams rose from this promotion round. In addition, the inferior finalist of Lower Silesia, Gelb-Weiß Görlitz , as well as the runner-up from the group of the Lower Silesian district champion, TuSpo Liegnitz , were allowed to move up to the Gauliga Lower Silesia for the next season.

Final championship district league

In the final of the championship in the district league, the winner of division 2, Yellow-White Görlitz , and the winner of division 1, WSV Liegnitz , met. The first leg took place on May 4, 1941 in Görlitz , the second leg on May 11, 1941 in Liegnitz . Liegnitz was able to prevail and took part as a Lower Silesian representative successfully in the promotion round to the Gauliga Schlesien 1941/42 . Since the Gauliga was split up in the next year, Görlitz was also allowed to rise to the Gauliga Lower Silesia.
