1. District classes ↓

The District League Oberschlesien 1939/40 was the seventh season of the District League Oberschlesien. In addition to the Lower Silesian District League 1939/40 and the Central Silesian District League 1939/40, it served as one of three second-rate district leagues in the substructure of the Gauliga Silesia . The champions of the three district classes qualified for a promotion round in which two promoted to Gauliga were played.

The Oberschlesien district league was played this season in two groups with ten and six teams in a round-robin tournament with a return game. The two group winners played the district champion in two finals. In the end, SV Schomberg prevailed and qualified for the promotion round to Gauliga Schlesien 1940/41 , in which the Schomberger could not prevail against SC Vorwärts Breslau and VfB Liegnitz and thus missed the promotion.

During the current season, due to the war, there were quite a few cancellations from the game operations, so that only a fraction of the planned games could be played. For the coming season, the Oberschlesien district league was renamed 1st Class Oberschlesien .

Final championship district league

In the final of the championship in the district league, the winner of group 1, SV Schomberg , and the winner of group 2, RSG Neisse , met. The first leg took place on June 30, 1940 in Schomberg , the second leg on July 7, 1940 in Neisse . Schomberg was able to prevail and took part as an Upper Silesian representative in the promotion round to Gauliga Schlesien 1940/41 , in which the team missed promotion to the Gauliga.
