Venues of the Gauliga Bayern 1940/41

The Gauliga Bayern 1940/41 was the eighth season of the Gauliga Bayern (officially: Bayern division ) in football. In the second year of the war, sports in Bavaria started in two seasons, “North” and “South”, for traffic reasons, which is why the number of teams was increased to a total of 13. After the fourth game day, however, they returned to single-track mode at the end of October. The TSV 1860 München owed winning his first Gaumeisterschaft especially his prolific forward line, not least because the 83 goals scored in 22 games ensured until end of season for the significant lead of four points on defending Nuremberg. In the final round of the German championship , however, the lions failed in the preliminary group at the eventual champions SK Rapid Wien. Relegated to the relegation zone ended the VfR 07 Schweinfurt and newcomer Wuerzburg Kickers , who TuSpV 1883 Nuremberg (formerly FSV Nuremberg ) had withdrawn its team in December after eight losses in a row from playing. The two merger associations Reichsbahn-SSVg Weiden and Eintracht-Franken Nürnberg prevailed as a climber to the 1941/42 round .
