Venues of the Gauliga Baden 1933/34 |
The Gauliga Baden 1933/34 was the first season of the Gauliga Baden in football . The league was made up of teams from three seasons from the former district leagues of the 1932/33 season : the three Mannheim clubs had previously played in the Rhein / Saar district league, Brötzingen and Pforzheim in the Württemberg / Baden district league, the remaining five teams in of the Baden group. The Gauliga season started on September 9, 1933 and ended on April 8, 1934. SV Waldhof won the championship one point ahead of local rivals VfR Mannheim . SV Waldhof qualified for the final round of the German championship , where it was able to advance to the semi-finals, but failed there at the later German champions FC Schalke 04 . The relegation ranks occupied Germania Brötzingen and SC Freiburg .
