Venues of the Gauliga Baden 1942/43 |
The Gauliga Baden 1942/43 was the tenth season of the Gauliga Baden in football . It began on August 30, 1942 and ended on March 7, 1943. For the last time, the Gaume Championship was held in a single-track mode with ten teams. Already on the first match day VfR Mannheim indicated with a 12-0 victory over Phoenix Karlsruhe that they would provide the outstanding team in the league this year. The blue-white-reds did not lose points and finished the round as champions with a fabulous goal difference of 137:12. The final round of the German championship also started promisingly for VfR, but in the quarterfinals they had to admit defeat to the Westmark champions FV Saarbrücken despite the break . Since the Gauliga Baden was divided into three seasons in the following 1943/44 season , there were no relegated teams this season.
