Kaisa Roose

Kaisa Roose (born April 15, 1969 in Tallinn ) is an Estonian conductor .

Life and music

Kaisa Roose began taking piano lessons at the prestigious Tallinn Music School ( Tallinna Muusikakool ) at the age of six . In 1987 she was admitted to the Tallinn State Conservatory . In 1992 she completed her studies in choir conducting there. In 1993 she began her studies in orchestral conducting at the Royal Danish Conservatory ( Det Kongelige Danske Conservatory of Music ) in Copenhagen , which she graduated in 1997.

She then worked as a conductor at the Royal Theater ( Det Kongelige Teater ) in the Danish capital, before moving to the music theater ( Malmö opera och musikteater ) in Malmö , Sweden, from 2000 to 2003 . She made numerous guest appearances with orchestras from Denmark, Sweden , Estonia , Finland , Lithuania and Costa Rica .

In 1997, Kaisa Roose was awarded the Danish Grethe Kolbe Prize for young conductors.
