history

FC Viktoria Feudenheim

The ASV Feudenheim has its roots in several Feudenheim clubs. The Viktoria Feudenheim football club was founded in 1903. The first successes were celebrated in the years 1911 to 1913, when the team was runner-up in the Neckargau B class three times, two of them behind SV Waldhof Mannheim . In the first season after the First World War in 1919/20, Viktoria played in the Odenwaldkreis League. The winner was qualified for the southern German championship, so it was the highest possible league.

VfTuR Feudenheim

In 1920 FC Viktoria Feudenheim merged with the Badenia 1889 Mannheim-Feudenheim gymnastics club to form the club for gymnastics and lawn sports Mannheim-Feudenheim, or VfTuR Feudenheim for short. In 1922, Feudenheim was the runner-up in the Odenwaldkreis after losing to Waldhof Mannheim in the final. In 1925, however, the VfTuR was only penultimate in the now renamed Rhine District League and had to relegate from the first class.

As part of the national socialists ' " Gleichschaltung ", the workers' gymnastics and sports club Mannheim-Feudenheim, founded in 1887, was banned. The ATSV had twice reached the finals in the national championship held by the Workers' Gymnastics and Sports Association . Most footballers joined the VfTuR after the club was banned. During the Second World War , Feudenheim was champion of division 1 Unterbaden season 1 in the 1940/41 season. VfTuR also came first in the subsequent qualification for the Gauliga Baden and thus rose to the top division, to which he belonged until the end of the war. The best result reached Feudenheim in the 1942/43 season, the runner-up behind VfR Mannheim .

ASV Feudenheim

Shortly after the end of the war, former members of the ATSV Feudenheim and the VfTuR Feudenheim founded the general sports club Feudenheim, or ASV Feudenheim for short, which became the legal successor to the two old clubs. The first game was played on September 15, 1945. The league operations were also redesigned and the Oberliga Süd was founded for clubs from Hesse , Württemberg-Baden and Bavaria . The ASV Feudenheim played the first post-war season 1945/46 including in the second-rate regional league North Baden . The following year, Feudenheim was the superior champion with 43: 9 points, but failed in the promotion games at VfB Mühlburg . For the 1950/51 season , the 1st Amateur League North Baden was created, in which Feudenheim was instant champion and was able to move up to the Second League South after qualifying games. From there, however, the team had to relegate again in 1953. As a result, the ASV remained in the 1st Amateur League North Baden, where he was mostly able to place in the top third. 1958 Wolfgang Wittemaier was appointed to the amateur national team.

In 1963 and 1964, Feudenheim was Badischer Vice-Cup winner and then in 1966 Badischer Cup winner. In the following year the championship in the 1st Amateur League North Baden could be celebrated in addition to the renewed vice cup. In the following relegation to Regionalliga Süd , however, one point was missing for promotion. In 1968 the Badischer Pokal could be won again, but then a sporting decline began. In the 1969/70 season, Feudenheim was only last and had to relegate. The board then proposed merger negotiations with the VfR Mannheim, but this was rejected by the majority of the members. In 1973 the ASV managed to return to the 1st Amateur League North Baden, where they were relegated in 1977 and then had to go down to the district class over the years .

Women

The women's team at ASV Feudenheim was one of the pioneers in Mannheim women's football . Founded in 1970, the team was able to become the first Mannheim regional league champion in 1972 and Baden vice-champion in 1975. From the founding of the Association League Baden 1975 to 1981 and again from 1982 to 1994 Feudenheim played in this league, which until the introduction of the Bundesliga in 1990 was the highest German league. The greatest success was achieved in the 1983/84 season, when ASV Feudenheim won the association league with 28: 4 points and reached the quarter-finals in the final round of the German championship , where the Feudenheimers were eliminated against the eventual runner-up FSV Frankfurt .
