Manfred Spatz

Manfred Spatz (* 1925 in Feudenheim ) is a former German wrestler.

He grew up in Feudenheim and started wrestling as a young boy . He started for ASV Feudenheim , Hermann Brunner was his first coach. As a youth he won numerous victories in the region and in 1943 became the second German youth champion in the Greco-Roman style. After the war he won the German bantamweight championship, Greco-Roman style, in 1950, ahead of Heinz Josten , Hochemmerich and Fritz Abrecht , Viernau . In 1951 he was second in the German championship behind Ferdinand Schmitz , Cologne, in free style in bantamweight . In 1953 he won the bantamweight, Greco-Roman style in Stuttgart-Feuerbach , his second DM title ahead of Heinz Heuser , Dettingen and Alfons Furtmayr , Schorndorf .

In 1950 he was used in three international matches in Turkey . But he had to recognize the superiority of the Turkish top wrestlers Suha Karman , Melih Eren and world champion Nasuh Akar . He could no longer qualify for further international assignments.
