history

The years leading up to World War II

On July 6, 1912, FC Germania and FC Alemannia Daxlanden merged to form the Daxlanden football club . The club's colors were black and blue and the then municipal secretary Friedrich Leppert was chosen as the first chairman. The inauguration of the sports field on Dammweg after Rappenwört took place on September 8, 1912. Daxlanden became a member of the South German Football Association on March 1, 1913. Due to the effects of the First World War , games in Daxlanden came to a standstill in 1915. The outstanding talent of the club, Emil Kutterer , he played in the first team of the FVD at the age of 17, moved to FV Beiertheim in 1916 and was appointed to the German national football team in 1925 as a player of FC Bayern Munich . In the 1923/24 round, Daxlanden moved into the district league through the championship in the A-class and now played against the Karlsruher FV , Phönix Karlsruhe and FC Rastatt 04 . Due to the construction of the Rheinstrandbad Rappenwört, the sports facility on Dammweg had to be abandoned in 1926. On June 21, 1927, the so-called “small stadium” on Pfalzstrasse was opened to the public. The 1932/33 round brought a great sporting success by winning the championship in the district league, but Phönix Karlsruhe prevailed against Daxlanden in the promotion game to the Gauliga Baden . This goal was achieved by re-Cup in the round of 1941-42: in the promotion round to Daxlanden sat against VfR Pforzheim , SV 98 Schwetzingen , VfB Knielingen , SG Heidelberg-Kirchheim and Mannheim-Käfertal by and belonged to Round 1942/43 of Gauliga Baden. The outstanding Daxland player August Klingler was first used in the German national football team on August 16, 1942 by Reich coach Sepp Herberger . In the 1942/43 season, the climber finished seventh in Baden and in 1943/44 in the Gauliga Baden-Mitte sixth.

Successful years in the 50s - 1st Amateur League North Baden until 1963/64

With the resumption of play, the FV Daxlanden was included in the North Baden regional league in 1945/46 . As a table ninth in the 1947/48 season, the FVD rose from the southern group of the regional league. With Lothar Bechtel and Herbert Dannenmeier , two top performers migrated to VfB Mühlburg in the Oberliga Süd . In the round 1949/50 succeeded by winning the championship in the district class promotion to the 1st Amateur League North Baden , which was not successful the year before, despite the championship title. In the first year in the 1st amateur league, 1950/51 , Daxlanden took fourth place in the table behind the champions ASV Feudenheim and the two old masters Karlsruher FV and Phoenix Karlsruhe . Heinz Beck took the top scorer's crown with 28 goals. In the second year 1951/52 , the FVD improved to third place behind the champions and promoted to the 2nd League South , Karlsruher FV, and SV Schwetzingen . But the icing on the cake was the participation in the games for the DFB-Pokal , where the amateur league team could compete against the representatives of the Oberliga Süd ( VfR Mannheim , SV Waldhof Mannheim , VfL Neckarau ) and the 2nd League South ( SV Wiesbaden , ASV Feudenheim) . Heinz Beck had once again topped the list of goalscorers in North Baden (30 goals) and signed a contract with VfB Mühlburg on June 15, 1952.

When the 40th anniversary of the club was celebrated from August 1st to 11th, 1952, the club honored national coach Sepp Herberger and Lord Mayor Günther Klotz with a visit on August 9th. FV Daxlanden won the championship title in North Baden in the 1952/53 round ahead of FV Hockenheim 08 and DSC Heidelberg . In the promotion round to the 2nd League South, the champions from North Baden faced FC Hanau 93 , FC Wacker Munich , VfR Aalen , Offenburger FV and ATS Kulmbach . Daxlanden took third place behind the two climbers Hanau and Wacker Munich. In the year of the football world championship in 1954 , the FVD moved into the games for the German amateur championship as runner-up in the 1953/54 season . Opponents were VfB Friedrichshafen , SC Baden-Baden and 1. FC Lichtenfels . After finishing third in 1954/55 , another runner-up followed in the 1955/56 season. With Max Schwall , a player from Daxlanden made his debut on November 12, 1955 in London at the international match of the German national soccer team of amateurs against England in the DFB team. Schwall was also a member of the DFB delegation at the 1956 Summer Olympics soccer tournament in Melbourne. After the 1956/57 season , the versatile midfielder and defender moved to Karlsruher SC in the Oberliga Süd.

On June 15, 1958, the new square was inaugurated and given the name "August Klinger Stadium".

The way to the lower divisions

The best time of FV Daxlanden was over, however, after the round of 1963/64 the relegation to the 2nd amateur league was perfect, when they lost the playoff against SpVgg Sandhofen with 2: 5 goals after extra time. On August 22, 1973, Edelbert Kühn was honored for his 600th game in the first team and passed with 368 goals after 23 years of active playing time. The five-time selection player from North Baden was made an honorary captain and awarded the golden ring of honor. After the 1974/75 season, the club also rose from the 2nd amateur league. After the rise in 1978, FV Daxlanden belonged to the district league until round 1991/92. Since then, the club has been operating at the district and district level in the Karlsruhe soccer district.
