The Sport-Club Baden-Baden is a sports club from Baden-Baden .

The club's soccer department had its most successful period until the mid-1970s, when it played in the highest German amateur leagues for several years. In addition to the football section, the club also has a volleyball, table tennis and athletics department. Today the handball department belongs to the ASVO Baden-Baden.

history

SC Baden-Baden was founded in 1902 as the Baden-Baden football club. 1919 merged with the 1904 Baden-Baden football club "Olympia" to form the Baden-Baden Sports Association of 1902. In 1945, the Baden-Baden Sports Association of 1902 and the Association for Movement Games of 1920 Baden-Baden West merged to form the "City Selection" " Baden-Baden. A year later the name was changed to Sport-Club Baden-Baden. In the 1961/62 season , the sports club failed as champions of the 1st amateur league in the promotion round to the 2nd South League . In the end, only one point was missing for promotion to the second highest division. After winning all the games, the Kurstädter lost the decisive promotion game against VfR Heilbronn 2-0. In 1973, SC Baden-Baden won the championship of the then third-class 1st amateur league and, with Dieter Vogel, was the league's top scorer. This time, too, the townspeople failed in the promotion round to the regional league. In addition to the SC, VfR Mannheim, SSV Ulm and FC Villingen also wanted to be in the second highest class. In front of more than 5,000 spectators in the Aumatt Stadium, SC Baden-Baden played 0-0 against SSV Ulm at the start. There was also a draw in Ulm and at home against promoted Mannheim (both 1: 1). The remaining games were lost.
