Peter Koßmann (born August 19, 1941 ) is a former German soccer player and coach .

Player career

The defender Koßmann, who was previously active for Freiburg FC, played at least since 1962 and therefore already in the major league for Karlsruher SC . But he was not used in the Oberliga Süd. In the Bundesliga he played his first league game for Karlsruhe by making his Bundesliga debut on matchday 3 in the 4-0 home defeat against Hamburger SV with a starting eleven. The season in which he was able to show the most appearances in his team with a total of 24 completed games after Josef Marx and Gustav Witlatschil , ended for the Badener trained by Kurt Sommerlatt as table 13th, which barely avoided relegation. In the following season, in which he was on the field in 26 other Bundesliga games, Koßmann left only FC Schalke 04 behind with the Karlsruhe team . The only thing that prevented the move to the second Bundesliga was the addition of two more teams for the following season. In the season that followed, his coaches Helmut Schneider and Werner Roth mainly rely on other players. Only in eight games he came in the ranks of the relegation again barely escaped KSC to train. His employment record with nine completed Bundesliga games was not better in 1966/67. After all, he scored his first and only Bundesliga goal in a 3-1 away win at Schalke on the last day of the match. His last Bundesliga season, Georg Gawliczek and later Berni Termath, had two new coaches ready for him. However, he only contributed to relegation as bottom of the table at the end of the season with one use in the game at the start of the season against 1. FC Nürnberg . After a total of 68 Bundesliga games (one goal), his career as a Bundesliga player ended. Further stations for him are 1. FC Saarbrücken in the 1971/72 season, as well as SpVgg 1910 Andernach and Eisbachtaler Sportfreunde 1919 .

His father Eugen Koßmann was a successful attacker at Freiburg FC in the former Gauliga Baden .

Coaching

As of March 1979, he trained in the Amateur Oberliga Baden-Wuerttemberg the 08 Kuppenheim SV .
