FIA Formula 3 Trophy 2012
The 2012 FIA Formula 3 Trophy was supposed to be the second season of the FIA Formula 3 Trophy . Five international Formula 3 events should be included in the evaluation . The season would have started on April 29th at the Hockenheimring and ended on November 18th at the Guia Circuit .
On March 9, it was announced that the FIA is discontinuing the Formula 3 trophy and that the 2012 season will therefore not be held. Instead, the Formula 3 European Championship , which was last held in 1984, will be held again. The individual events “ Formula 3 Masters ” and “ Macau Grand Prix ” will continue to take place.
Racing calendar
The 2012 FIA Formula 3 Trophy would have included five events. Two of them, including the Grand Prix de Pau , took place as part of the British Formula 3 championship . An event of the Formula 3 Euro Series would also have been part of the racing calendar. In addition, two Formula 3 individual events would have been included in the rating. In addition, races at Silverstone on September 9th - together with British Formula 3 - and on an as yet undefined race track on November 25th were originally planned.
