The FK Železnik (full official name in Serbian : Фудбалски клуб Железник - ФК Железник, Fudbalski klub Železnik - FK Železnik ), usually Železnik , is a Serbian football club from the Belgrade District Čukarica , more precisely from the district Železnik . The club, founded in 1930, currently plays in the Srpska liga Beograd , one of the four sections of the Srpska liga , the third-highest division in Serbian football .

The FK Železnik achieved its first significant successes in 1995, when it was promoted to the 2nd division of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (1992-2003) for the first time . In the following year, they were promoted to the first division , where they played until 2005. During this period, the club managed a 3rd place in 2003 and reaching the semi-finals in the Yugoslav Cup in 2002 and 2003. In 2005, Železnik finally won the Cup of Serbia and Montenegro (2003-2006), when they defeated Red Star 1-0 .

In the same year one merged due to financial difficulties with FK Voždovac and went on in the club. In 2009 Železnik was re-established and started in the 5th division of the Serbian football system. The club rose twice in a row. Since then, Železnik has played in the Srpska liga Beograd .

Stadion

The club plays its home games in the FK Železnik stadium , which has a capacity of 8,350 spectators , 4,000 of which have seats, but which is in need of renovation in order to meet all quality and safety standards for national football events of the highest division.
