Fabrice Luang-Vija (* 1967 in Lyon ) is a French animator .

Life

Luang-Vija first studied literature and later communication and audiovisual technology at the University of Grenoble and the University of Valenciennes . From the early 1990s he worked for a corporate company in Grenoble in the corporate communications department. Several hundred image films, company videos, music videos and other multimedia projects were created. Luang-Vija founded the film production company Fargo in 1998.

Luang-Vija had an early interest in drawing; his interest in animation was aroused by visits to the Festival d'Animation Annecy . His first animated film as a director was Square couine in 2002 , followed by the animation series Les fables en délire for children. With Fargo he produced the short film The One with Two Souls , based on the story Celui qui a deux âmes by Néfissa Bénouniche . Luang-Vija adapted and directed the film with Bénouniche. The one with the two souls was awarded a César for best animated short film in 2017 . In 2019, the animated short film The Snake Prince was released , for which Luang-Vija wrote the screenplay and which he directed together with Anna Khmelevskaya .

Luang-Vija lives and works in Valence .
