Fachingen is a district of the local community Birlenbach in the Rhein-Lahn district in Rhineland-Palatinate .

The district is located on the Lahn , a few kilometers southwest of Diez .

The medicinal water spring Staatl. Fachingen has been in use since 1742 and is the most important medicinal water source in Germany with a 26% market share.

Fachingen has a train station on the Lahn-Eifel-Bahn , here the trains of the line RB23 (Limburg – Diez– Fachingen –Bad Ems – Niederlahnstein – Koblenz Hbf – Koblenz Stadtmitte – Mendig – Mayen Ost) of the DB Regio run to the Rhineland- Palatinate cycle every hour.
