Former winery on Hertersplatz in Alfter

The listed half-timbered house at Hertersplatz 13 is one of the oldest architectural monuments in the old town center of Alfter , a municipality in the Rhein-Sieg district on the western outskirts of Bonn . It's on the corner of the junction from Hertersplatz to the paved Kirchweg. As a central anchor point between St. Matthew's Church , castle and library, it shapes the natural historical image of the place with its half-timbered construction in clay .

history

The half-timbered structure of the former winery was built in 1778. Restoration findings indicate that the basement, foundation and foundation walls made of field fire stone were built much further back . Since 1888, the homestead, equipped with a natural stone oven, served as a bakery and grocery store for the Wilhelm Jansen family. In 1988, the typical local appearance was restored in terms of monument preservation.

On the frame is the inscription of the regional master carpenter H. Faßbender:

“MASTER H. FASB. ✠ Anno 1778 ON AUGUST 6TH THE HONORABLE YOUNG PARTNER
JOHANNES HENNES HAS THIS BAUW. AUFFLASSEN JUDGE ✠ WERSTU HERE BEEN "
