The Factoría Carrocería Montaje Valladolid Renault España SA is since 2001 existing subsidiary of the Spanish car manufacturer Renault España SA The company's headquarters is located in Valladolid , Spain . The plant replaced the previously existing joint venture company Fabricación de Automóviles SA Around 700 people are employed in the plant.
The site of the assembly company covers an area of 98.4 hectares, of which 31.4 hectares are built on. The manufacturer states that the maximum production capacity is around 520,000 vehicles per year of production. Engine construction is carried out in the separate department Valladolid Motors . In addition to the assembly plant, this covers another area of 25.8 hectares, of which 14.5 hectares are built on. Every day 5,500 gasoline and diesel engines are manufactured here together with a number of vehicle parts for the drive train as well as cylinder heads , crankcases and connecting rods .
The model range initially only included the Renault Clio , which was taken over from the predecessor company and which was later replaced by Renault Modus . The Renault Twizy is also mass-produced here.
