Bicycle mechanic
The bicycle fitter is a state-recognized training occupation in Germany according to the Vocational Training Act and the Crafts Code .
Duration of training and structure
The training period to become a bicycle mechanic is usually two years. The training takes place at the training company and vocational school .
Work areas
Bicycle fitters work in the two-wheeler trade or in the two-wheeled trade. They manufacture bicycles from individual parts, assemble and dismantle components, assemblies and systems on bicycles. They maintain bicycles and carry out maintenance work. Bicycle mechanics advise customers and attach accessories.
Continuation of training
A trainee who has successfully completed his training as a bicycle mechanic can, his training in three and a half year training professional bicycle mechatronics of discipline continue cycling technology. The achievements already achieved in the final examination can be credited as part 1 of the extended final examination .
