The vehicle interior fitter is a state-recognized training occupation in Germany according to the Vocational Training Act .

Duration of training and structure

The training period to become a vehicle interior designer is usually three years. The training takes place at the training company and vocational school .

Work areas

Vehicle interior designers work for manufacturers of vehicle seats and in the upholstery departments of aircraft and shipbuilders . They assemble seats, assemble upholstery fabrics , manufacture cladding and cover parts of the vehicle interior such as B. the dashboard or the headliner. The work can include one-off and series production. Vehicle interior decorators can also be used to repair vehicle interiors. However, saddlers specializing in vehicle upholstery are often employed here .
