Falagountou is both a municipality ( French commune rurale ) and a department encompassing the same area in the West African state of Burkina Faso in the Sahel region and the province of Séno . The community has 26,047 residents in 13 villages, the majority of whom are Songhai . At Falagountou the Féléol flows into the Gorouol .
According to legend, Bamoye is the founder of Falagountou. He is said to have been an invincible warrior who fought against the Tuareg . His grave can be visited in Falagountou.
