Falkland Current

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Falkland Current is a north-facing cool ocean current in the South Atlantic off the southeast coast of South America and is a branch of the Antarctic Circumpolar Current .

It is the continuation of the Cape Horn Current and flows from the Falkland Islands to just before the mouth of the Río de la Plata . Here at the 40th degree of southern latitude it meets the warm Brazilian current coming from the north , mixes with it and is deflected to the east.
