Family church

The parish church of the Holy Family is on the corner of Linzer Bürgerstrasse and Dinghoferstrasse in Upper Austria . The Roman Catholic parish church of the Holy Family is part of the Linz-Mitte dean's office in the Linz diocese . The church is a listed building .

history

In 1890, Bishop Franz Maria Doppelbauer bought the property on which the church stands. From 1907 to 1912, the church was built in the late historical style according to plans by cathedral builder Matthäus Schlager and consecrated on October 31, 1912 by Bishop Rudolph Hittmair . It is the second largest church in Linz after the Cathedral of the Virgin Mary .

The high altar is by Matthäus Schlager, the artistic design and the paintings mostly by Andreas Strickner . The organ comes from the organ builder Gebrüder Mauracher , consecrated in 1929, and was the largest in Linz at the time.
