The Fanny Blankers Koen Stadium is an international multi-purpose stadium in Hengelo ( Netherlands ). It was completed in 1948 as the Veldwijk Stadium. Since May 2, 1982, it has been named after the Dutch record runner Fanny Blankers-Koen .
The stadium was renovated in 2004–2007 and can seat 15,200 spectators. It is currently mostly used for athletics events, especially the annual Fanny Blankers Koen Games .
According to an agreement between the mayor and councilors of Hengelo and FC Twente Enschede from 2013, the facility is to become the property of Voetbalacademie FC Twente and to be converted into a football stadium. With the sale, the municipality intends to save € 281,000 . The football academy is currently training on the side seats of the Fanny Blankers Koen Stadium.
