The Burgstall Altenburg is the name of an abandoned high medieval hilltop castle at 562 m above sea level. NHN in the area of the pilgrimage church St. Maria Altenburg, a district of the municipality Moosach in the district of Ebersberg in Bavaria .
The castle was destroyed before 1400. Nothing has been preserved from the former castle complex. The pilgrimage church "Our Lady in Altenburg" was first mentioned in 1391. Today the site is registered as a ground monument D-1-7937–0048 "Castle Stables of the High Middle Ages ('Altenburg')" by the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation .
