Fanny Nemeth-Weiss

Fanny Nemeth-Weiss (* 1987 in Szombathely ) is a Hungarian cellist .

Career

Fanny Nemeth-Weiss received cello lessons at the age of 9. Three years later, at the age of 12, she gave her first public appearance with an orchestra in Hungary. During her youth she received lessons in Hungary, Switzerland, Austria and Croatia, among others with Ivan Monighetti . Fanny Nemeth-Weiss also received influences from Lynn Harrell and Bernard Greenhouse . From 2005 to 2009 she completed her “Bachelor of Music” at the Manhattan School of Music , after which she completed her “Master of Music” from 2010 to 2012 at the Catholic University of America Washington DC . At the same institution, Fanny Nemeth-Weiss received her doctorate as "Doctor of Musical Arts". In the meantime, a CD was created during a master class on which she can also be heard. Nemeth-Weiss is a committed educator, she was a private lecturer at Trinity Washington University from 2015 to 2016 and worked as a teaching assistant at the String Department of the Catholic University of America. She has worked at the Perlman Music Program (founded by Itzhak Perlman ), the PMP Chamber Music Program, the Aspen Music Festival and School , the Music Academy of the West , the Kronberg Academy and the Classical Passion Advanced Strings Training Program in Harrisburg . She gave concerts in Europe and North America. Fanny Nemeth-Weiss took part in the following competitions: CUA Concerto Competition in Washington DC (1st Prize), Lower String Concerto Competition in Aspen (2nd Prize), Alpen-Adria International Music Competition in Gorizia (1st Prize), Matz International Cello Competition Zagreb (1st prize), Janigro International Competition in Croatia (2nd prize), Festival for Young Musicians in Hungary (1st prize).
