A color tone is a combination of several colors that have a defined relationship to one another with the same brightness and color quality .

Color tones appear harmonious and yet rich in contrast . They can be used well to clearly differentiate between different facts that are not in contrast to one another. Optimal color tones are achieved by combining one or two basic colors and their gradations, which increase each other.
