Farnetta
Farnetta (Latin: Castrum Farnectae ) is a fraction of the municipality of Montecastrilli in the province of Terni , Umbria region in Italy .
The place is 385 m slm , on a small mountain in the region of Umbria . It is about 4 km from Montecastrilli and 3 km from Avigliano Umbro . According to a census in 2001, there were 246 inhabitants in Farnetta. In 2004 there were 283.
history
The village has existed since the Middle Ages. There are two documents about this, the first is from 1174. The document tells of a German Count von Rapizone who gave churches and land to Farfa Abbey . The other document is from 1175 and reports that the Church of Farnetta was given to the abbey.
Attractions
The church of St. Lorenz, about 3 kilometers from Farnetta, is interesting.
