Farouk Hammad

Farouk Hammad (born May 23, 1933 in Alexandria ) is an Egyptian industrial designer and professor emeritus for industrial design at the Braunschweig University of Art .

Life

Farouk Hammad was born in Alexandria / Egypt. After attending secondary school, he studied mechanical engineering at the Technical College in Abnahm / Egypt from 1951 to 1954 and obtained the technical industrial diploma. A pedagogy course with the subjects art and mathematics completed in the years 1954-1957 at the university in Asyut , Hammad graduated with the teaching qualification examination. From 1959 to 1960 he studied industrial design at the Werkkunstschule Hannover, followed by a university course in general mechanical engineering in 1970 with the degree “ Diplomingenieur Univ. “From.

After teaching assignments at the Universities of Cairo and Hanover , Farouk Hammad was from 1976 to 1983 technical assistant for the board of directors of MEAPLAN Mittelost AG in Frankfurt am Main. From 1983 to 1987, Hammad again held academic teaching positions at the universities of Hanover and Braunschweig. In 1988 Farouk Hammad was appointed university professor for industrial design at the Braunschweig University of Art , where he taught until his retirement in 2000. Since then he has held guest lectures in industrial design at various German universities, for example at the University of Hanover.
