Farrington Island is a small island in the William Scoresby Archipelago off the Mawson Coast of the East Antarctic Mac Robertson Land . It is located 6.5 km north-northeast of Couling Island and 2.5 km west of the Klakkane archipelago .
The island was discovered and named in February 1936 by scientists from the British Discovery Investigations on board the research vessel RRS William Scoresby . Name giver is James Edward Butler Futtit "Fram" Farrington (1908–2002), radio operator on this ship.
