Fass Reisen is a bus transport company in Wilhelmshaven owned by the company founder .

history

The company was founded on May 1, 1965 by Werner Fass in Wilhelmshaven. The only vehicle at the time was a used 41-seater Setra bus ; the first new bus was only purchased in 1969. In 1967, after a takeover of the haulage company Friedr. Popken's resulting business expansion required the move. The company moved into at the time is still the seat of Fass Reisen today.

In 1971 the Pirle company was taken over . In the following year, regular service was operated for the first time, at that time as a subcontractor for the Deutsche Bundesbahn . The next few years were mainly characterized by the expansion of coach traffic, which resulted in an expansion of the company premises several times.

In October 1975 a city bus line was operated for the first time . Line 12, which runs between Wilhelmshaven and Wiesmoor , was at that time contract traffic for Stadtwerke Wilhelmshaven , which also took over the Wilhelmshaven city tours a year later. This line is still operated by Fass Reisen, meanwhile within the VEJ as line 111.

Another major expansion of the company did not take place until 1988, when the first performance for the Landesbühne Lower Saxony North took place and the company Evers was taken over. The next acquisitions took place in 1991 and 1994. Affected were the A. Meiners company, whose buses and orders were taken over, or the Johann Hagen company , which was completely absorbed by Fass Reisen.
