Fatima Chapels

The Fatima chapel on the tunnel is an old and a new Roman Catholic chapel in the municipality of Langen near Bregenz .

Old Fatima Chapel

On the basis of a vow made by Kaspar Gmeiner in 1933, a field cross was first created by Franz Albertani. In 1934 the chapel was consecrated as a wooden structure. The chapel has a roof turret with an onion hood.

New Fatima Chapel

Stained Glass - New Fatima Chapel

Between 1951 and 1952 the new chapel was built next to the old chapel according to plans by Willibald Braun . The chapel is a rectangular building with an anteroom and a straight end under a gable roof. The chapel has a tower with a pointed helmet. The prayer room has a staggered flat ceiling and flat arched windows on the side and on the altar wall.

The stained glass on the altar wall of the Coronation of Mary by Fritz Krcal in an execution by the Tyrolean Glass Painting Institute Innsbruck . On the side walls, the stained glass depict saints Dominikus Savio , Maria Goretti , Antonius von Padua , Katharina Labouré , Niklaus von Flüe and Hemma von Gurk , painted by Albert Rauch , executed by the Tyrolean Glass Painting Institute Innsbruck. There is a Fatima Madonna by Franz Albertani from 1933 with a crown by Erwin Klobassa. The crowning glory of the miraculous image was in 1954. The wall hangings are by Mila Bjelik.
