Individual evidence

  1. genealogical overviews of the ruling family of Sachin as at http://www.royalark.net/India/sachin3.htm cast doubt on this information: Nawab Sidi Ibrahim Muhammad Yakut Khan III is supposed to have left three daughters by the Bollywood actress and first female film director, Fatima Bai (b.1903; d. 1983). Alas, the same sources give the date of birth for this lady's second daughter as 1911, sufficient cause to raise doubt on the whole story. Even if true, there is no record of a marriage or contract having taken place between the Nawab and Fatima Bai. Equally, no record exists of the Nawab having recognized any of her children as his own, a prerequisite for legal paternity in Muslim family law.
