Fatou Sanyang Kinteh

Fatou Sanyang Kinteh (born in the 20th century ) is a Gambian politician.

Life

Sanyang Kinteh attended Gambia High School in Banjul and then studied sociology and history at Fourah Bay College in Freetown (Sierra Leone). She graduated with a bachelor's degree.

After returning to The Gambia, she worked for the Gambia Family Planning Association (GFPA) for seven years . In 1999 she went to Cardiff University and earned a Masters in Population and Development.

Sanyang Kinteh was Deputy Director and Director of the Gambian Women's Bureau . Most recently she worked for the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) as a national coordinator in the fight against female genital mutilation .

With effect from 1 March 2019, she was President Adama Barrow to Minister for Affairs of Women, Children and Social Welfare ( Minister for Women Affairs, Children, and Social Welfare ) in the Cabinet appointed. This ministry was redesigned at this point: it took over responsibility for women’s affairs from Ousainou Darboe , who had previously also been Vice-President. Responsibility for the social department previously lay with the Ministry of Health under Isatou Touray .
