Fattusch
Fattusch ( Arabic فتوش, DMG Fattūš even Fatoush , Fatouche and similar) in addition tabbouleh another Lebanese salad dish , but with fried thin flatbread . The previously round, thin flatbread is fried in oil and broken into small pieces so that it takes on the role of croutons , which make the salad “crispy and crispy”. Tomatoes , cucumbers and parsley can always be found in a Fattusch salad . The Fattusch salad gets its special taste from the salad dressing mixture (garlic clove, finely chopped, sumac, freshly squeezed lemon juice, olive oil, salt, pepper and chopped fresh mint). As a variation there is also fattusch with peppers , (red) onions or other vegetables .
Fattusch , like mutabbal , hummus and falafel, is one of the mezze , the traditional starters of Arabic cuisine.
