Fausto Romitelli (born February 1, 1963 in Gorizia , † June 27, 2004 in Milan ) was an Italian composer.

Romitelli studied composition at the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi in Milan and then attended courses at the Accademia Chigiana di Siena with Franco Donatoni and the Scuola Civica di Milano . In 1991 he went to Paris, where he was a student of Hugues Dufourt and Gérard Grisey and studied at IRCAM , where he was compositeur en recherche from 1993 to 1995 .

With his compositions Romitelli won numerous European competitions and was invited to important festivals such as the Festival d'Automne , Ultima Helsinki , the Styrian Autumn (Graz) and the Darmstadt Summer Courses . In 2004 he succumbed to cancer in Milan.
