history
After international discussions about an organization for hunting in Europe, the association was founded in London in 1977. Since then, the association has been led by a total of ten presidents from nine countries.
Goals and tasks today
Today there are three specific objectives:
- The promotion of hunting based on the principles of sustainable use of natural resources, founding of the association: Hunting is an important part of wildlife conservation and wildlife management . According to FACE, hunting serves to protect, create and restore habitats for wild animals. Hunting is an important socio-economic activity of rural life. It creates added value for biodiversity and helps ensure that it is preserved.
- Representing the collective interests of its members at the level of European and international institutions with the aim of taking into account the interests of hunters in relation to hunting, wildlife management, nature conservation, firearms, animal health, game, etc.
- The procurement of information for decision-makers, the media and the general public on topics that revolve around the two key principles of sustainable hunting and the preservation of biodiversity, thereby raising awareness of initiatives to promote these principles.
