Federazione Auto Motoristica Sammarinese
The Federazione Auto Motoristica Sammarinese (FAMS) is the governing body of motorsport in the Republic of San Marino . The head office is in Dogana .
The association was founded on May 21, 1965 and recognized in October 1968 by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). The FAMS represents the national interests in the world federations of the FIA and has the status of ASN ( French Autorité Sportive Nationale , holder of the national sport sovereignty). Accordingly, FAMS is responsible for the implementation and monitoring of international regulations and the issuing of licenses and is also authorized to issue international driver licenses for its national licensees.

Events
The well-known FAMS events include the Formula 1 races for the San Marino Grand Prix , which were held from 1981 to 2006. FAMS has also hosted the Rally di San Marino since 1970, and the series is also part of the FIA European Championship . In 2014, the 42nd edition took place in July, which is also part of the Italian rally championship.
Trivia
The most active racing team and motorsport club in San Marino is Scuderia San Marino and the W & D Racing Team , which took home the title in the last race of the Italian Touring Endurance Championship in 2014.
