Federico Bruno (director)

Federico Bruno is an Italian film director , screenwriter and cameraman .

Bruno studied at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in the early 1980s and worked as a camera assistant on several films and in 1983 he operated the camera for Piero Gobetti before making his debut as a director in the same year. In addition to numerous short films, the thriller Black Tunnel was created in 1986, each based on their own script, and the road movie Cash Express in 1994, after a stay in the USA and a year of directing studies at UCLA . His last feature-length film to date is the 1998 documentary fiction Torero starring Francisco Rabal .

His short film Il capo al fiume won the Festival di Torino ; with his following films he took part in numerous other festivals. In his last films to date, he dealt with the topics of building speculation (2005) and the borderline syndrome (2007).
