Federico Gutiérrez Zuluaga (born November 28, 1974 in Medellín ) is a Colombian engineer and politician . On October 25, 2015, he won the mayoral election of Medellín, the capital of the Antioquia department and the second largest city in Colombia, against his opponent Juan Carlos Vélez with 246,221 votes (35.8%).

Gutiérrez studied civil engineering and management at the Universidad de Medellín and political science at the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana . Among other things, he worked as a consultant for HGI Consultores.

In 2003 he was elected to the City Council of Medellín for the Nuevo Partido and in 2007 for the Partido de la U. In 2008 he became President of the City Council.
