Federico Valerio Escobedo (born March 2, 1962 in Villanueva , Zacatecas ) is a retired Mexican football player in the position of goalkeeper .

career

Escobedo began his professional career at the capital club UNAM Pumas , where he was under contract from 1980 to 1985. In his first season in 1980/81 he was the third goalkeeper of the Pumas (with one use) of the team that won the Mexican football championship for the second time in the club's history in the same season . Overall, he only completed a total of six league games for the Pumas and two of them in the 1984/85 season, when the Pumas again reached the finals for the championship, but this time failed in a Clásico Capitalino at city rivals Club America . In the 1980/81 season, the Pumas had prevailed in a Clásico Chilango against the other big city rivals CD Cruz Azul .

Between 1985 and 1988 Escobedo was under contract with local rivals CD Coyotes Neza , for which he completed a total of 15 stakes. After Coyotes Neza had withdrawn from the first division for financial reasons at the end of the 1987/88 season, Escobedo moved to the Querétaro Fútbol Club , with whom he played two seasons (1988/89 and 1989/90) in the second division and after acquiring a license from Tampico-Madero FC spent two seasons (1990/91 and 1991/92) in the premier league before ending his active career at the age of 30.
