Fehlnerkapelle near Bittenbrunn

The listed Roman Catholic Fehlner Chapel is located "Auf der Wacht" in the Bittenbrunn district of Ursensollen . This field name is reminiscent of a rest area at the intersection of the old streets "Hohe Straße" and the "Bistumer Steig"; 3000 years ago the latter connected the area of today's Eger to the south with the Celtic settlement of Manching . The chapel belongs to the parish community Hausen Sankt Georg Hohenkemnath Mariä Himmelfahrt

history

In 1927 the master carpenter Johann Fehlner from Häuslöd had a chapel built in honor of the Mother of God on his property on the basis of a vow to pass the master craftsman's examination in the carpentry trade . The interior of the altar was designed by the Amberg painter Weber. In May 1978 it was robbed for the third time and part of the inventory was lost (e.g. an oil painting and a carved statue of the Mother of God). In 2018 an information board and benches were set up by the chapel.

Every year a May service is celebrated here on the feast of Ascension , followed by the forest festival of the Ursdensollen-Ammerthal tourist association.

Construction

The chapel is a solid building closed on three sides with a gable roof , the year "1927" indicates its construction. It has a roof turret with a bell and a vestibule . The plaster structure was renewed in 1996 and the chapel was painted in the church colors white and yellow.
