Holidays in Indonesia
The official holidays in Indonesia (Hari Raya) are announced every year by the Indonesian government and include both national and religious holidays. There are also several semi-official and local holidays. In addition to the 13 public holidays, there are four official vacation days. The religious holidays are celebrated differently locally depending on the religious affiliation of the population.

The Buddhist holidays and the Chinese New Year are based on the Chinese lunisolar calendar and are variable compared to the Gregorian calendar . The Balinese New Year celebrations are based on the Balinese lunar calendar. Likewise, the Islamic holidays are based on the Islamic shorter, pure lunar calendar and shift from year to year compared to the Gregorian calendar.
