The Feira Internacional de Lisboa (FIL) has been a trade fair in Portugal's capital Lisbon since 1999 .

history

In 1861, 1863 and 1865 the first industrial exhibitions were held in Portugal. A national exhibition was organized for the first time by the industrial association AIP in 1888 . In 1929 the AIP gave an overview of Portuguese industrial production through a trade fair.

In 1949 - already under the sign of the Estado Novo dictatorship - the AIP organized the "FIP - Feira das Indústrias Portuguesas " ( Portuguese industrial fair).

After the first FIL exhibition complex designed by Francisco Keil do Amaral and Alberto Cruz opened in Alcântara (Lisbon) in 1957 , the first Feira Internacional de Lisboa ( FIL ) took place in 1960 .

In the context of the economic upswing that began after the Carnation Revolution in 1974 and Portugal's accession to the EU in 1986, the FIL complex was repeatedly expanded to include additional pavilions , especially in the 1980s .

Location

After the Expo 98 , the Zona Internacional Norte there was rebuilt for the FIL relocation and opened in 1999 , in accordance with the original plans for the subsequent uses of the Expo .

Today's Feira Internacional de Lisboa is located on the Tejo , overlooking the Vasco da Gama bridge , and consists of four air-conditioned pavilions, each with 10,200 m² and between 10 and 15 meters high, has spacious road leads, and with the near Estação do Oriente one the Lisbon main train stations and Lisbon Metro - and bus hubs in the neighborhood. There is also a good connection to the expressways from the nearby Lisbon airport .

Events

A wide variety of exhibitions and events take place, including a. the Nauticampo boat fair (Portugal's largest leisure fair and one of the oldest in Europe), the BTL (international tourism fair ) and the Caramulo motor festival . The 40 annual trade fair events also include the prodigit graphics fair, training, furniture, toddler, wedding, erotic, building materials, handicraft fairs, record fairs and much more

The halls are also rented out so that other events take place there again and again (e.g. concerts).
