Feliciano Peña

Feliciano Peña ( Herminio Feliciano Peña Aguilera ; born April 25, 1915 in Silao , Guanajuato , † May 16, 1982 ) was a Mexican artist.

Peña came to Mexico City in 1926 and from 1927 attended the outdoor painting school in Tlalpan . After his training, he received a scholarship for further artistic training in 1933, also attended sculpture and graphics courses in this context and was able to exhibit some of his works in the art hall of the Secretaría de Educación Pública . In 1937 he also painted together with Chavez Morado and Gutiérrez on the mural of the Escuela Normal by Xalapa . Peña was a member of the Liga de Escritores y Artistas Revolucionarios , a founding member of the Salón de la Plástica Mexicana and the Mexican sculpture association Sociedad Mexicana de Grabadores. He has received several awards.

As a lecturer, he taught at the Escuela Nacional de Pintura, Escultura y Grabado "La Esmeralda" and the Escuela de Artes del Libro (Escuela de Artes Gráficas).
