Felix Andrievsky

Felix Andrievsky (Russian Феликс Аркадьевич Андриевский Felix Arkadjewitsch Andrijewski; born May 1936 in Ukraine ) is a Ukrainian violinist and music teacher.

Live and act

He studied at the Central Moscow Music School for musically gifted children and at the Gnessin Institute in Moscow with Abram Jampolski and Juri Jankelewitsch, among others .

In 1972 Andrievsky and his family were given permission to emigrate from the Soviet Union. He initially worked as a professor at the Jerusalem Music Academy and at Tel Aviv University as well as professor and director of the International Menuhin Music Academy in Gstaad, Switzerland. He later became a Principal Lecturer at the Royal College of Music in London.

Before 1972, Andrievsky gave numerous concerts in the Soviet Union, some of them together with his wife, the pianist Irina Zaritskaya . Many of his students were able to build international violinist careers.
